Dear Sir/Mam,


I am interested in using AX88178A in one of our design to convert USB 2.0 To Ethernet 1Gbps.


I have the following queries:


1) Does the converter provide throughput of 1 Gbps on USB2.0, If No, What is the maximum speed it can support ?


2) Does it support speed settings of 10/100 Mbps full / half duplex.


3) Is it supported by RHEL 7.1, 7.6 ?


4) How do I set the MAC ID of the Ethernet ? , Detail info requested.

    Below are answers for your reference.

    1),AX88178A is USB2.0 to Giga Ethernet Controller, the maximum speed is around 340Mbps due to bottleneck is USB2.0

    2), Yes,

    3), RHEL 7.x is based on 3.x kernel environment, AX88178A linux driver supports 2.6.x ~ 5.x kernel. FYI

    4), ASIX FAE will contact you to discuss more details and provide SROM tool user guide for reference.
